The Magician / The Shape-Shifter

This archetype is usually connected to a figure of transformation, who is intelligent and supernatural.

In this project, the magician archetype is being interpreted as a character from Hindu mythology called Shikandi (from the Indian version) and Srikandi (from the Javanese version).

Srikandi is initially a female character, but it’s been said in a chapter of the story where she turns into a giant male to go into a war.

The Rebel

The rebel archetype is an agent of chaos. Although in this project, it is linked to the Wabi-sabi philosophy from the Japanese Buddhism culture. As wabi-sabi teaching us to accept the transience and the imperfection, it can be seen as a rebel from a conventional beauty-obsessed point of view.

This concept is captured very subtly through texture exploration, smooth versus uneven. Portrayed by a made up ‘rebel/wabi-sabi’ character who lives in a hyper-clean world, where he is the only one who has wrinkles on his clothes and he is hating his environment for being too polished.

The Traveler (Explorer + Sage + Jester)

This archetype is a made up one; a combination of the explorer, the sage and the jester.

It refers to a character who has multi-layer of personality; slightly mysterious but open minded. He is spontaneous, yet observant. Therefore he is knowledgable, yet always up for fun. At last, this character is always living life to the fullest.
